Chinese Sinchun food in Long Island, Imperial Work at Hicksville

June 16, 2008

Want to try authentic Chinese Sichuan food in Long Island New York? Let me recommend Imperial Wok – a well known restaurant at Hicksville New York since 1980s. This place has no fancy décor, but the food is simply delicious, in my opinion, better than many restaurants at Chinatown. Imperial Wok offers two menus, English menu with Chinese American food e.g. sweet & sour chicken and beef with red pepper and onion etc, and an authentic Chinese menu, which offers spicy Sichuan dishes that you can’t resist. Can’t read Chinese? Just ask one of the friendly staffs to recommend their well known spicy dishes. I ordered a tofu fish, spicy beef in red hot sauce and the beef stew noodles. Food is extremely spicy, but they are great if you like hot and spicy favor. Tofu fish is fish filet is cover by white and soft tofu; the tofu balance the spicy favor added to the fish filet, it was spicy doesn’t burn your tongue. I also recommend the beef noodle soup – rice flat noodles with tender beef stew, serve with marinated sour vegetable.
